The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) recently presented STC’s Carol Robinson with the Safety Professional of the Year award for the Consultants Practice Specialty. The award recognizes members who have advanced the occupational safety, health, and environmental profession through exemplary volunteer service to the Society and to their specialty. Carol served as Membership Chair for the Consultants Practice Specialty and contributed to the implementation of ASSE’s SH&E Consultants Directory through her service on the Directory Committee.

Carol is STC’s Vice President and is the head of the Oakland, CA office. She has over 30 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) management and consulting for a wide range of industries that include biotech, chemical, high tech, personal care and petrochemical companies. She is an experienced auditor and uses her understanding of clients’ organizations to develop EH&S strategies, EH&S compliance programs, and ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems that fit their operations and cultures.

Robinson received her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Northwestern University and her master’s degree in Industrial Health from the University of Michigan. She is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
